Whereas, The University of Alaska's mission statement reads, "The University of Alaska inspires learning, and advences and disseminates knowledge though teching, research, and public service, emphasizing the North and its diverse peoples." (Regents' Policy 10.01.01); Whereas, The mission of the Office of Multicultural Affairs and Diversity (OMAD) is to promote a tolerant, caring society by providing effective culturally sensitive educational opportunities for students, staff, and faculty of the University of Alaska Fairbanks;
