SB 171-020 Food for Thought Committee Membership

Whereas, The Food for Thought Committee acts as a liason between the students of ASUAF, the ASUAF Student Government, and Dining Services;

Whereas, No more than three members of the Food for Thought Committee can be participants in the UAF meal plan;

Whereas, Students who are participants of the UAF meal plan would have a more invested interest in ensuring the quality of the dining services and would be more likely than those who are not enrolled in a UAF meal plan to serve on a committee;

Whereas, Students of ASUAF are not restricted from serving on this committee but might be prohibited from expressing their interests and opinions on the matter because of the limitation on the number of students with meal plans allowed on the committee;

Whereas, There is currently only one member on the Food for Thought Committee and the bylaws reqire a minimum of three student participants for the committee to operate; now therefore be it

Enacted, That bylaw 512.2 be amended to read "Two (2) students appointed by the ASUAF President and comfirmed by the Senate and three (3) students appointed by the ASUAF senate Chair; at least one of which shall not be a participant in the UAF meal plan."
